Atawhai class teacher - NE & Y1
Kia ora,
I am thankful to be teaching in Atawhai this year. I love watching our youngest students learn to read, write and explore the world of maths. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I trained first as a secondary school teacher and later to teach in primary school. God’s plans for me however, have led me into many roles other than teaching over the years. I have worked in university research, corporate development, performance, and information management, and I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mum for almost ten years. I gained British Citizenship by living in England for over seven years and have been to 35 countries, often on mission trips.
Seven years ago, God unexpectedly called me into Christian education, and I am so glad He did. I am excited about being able to use my varied skills and experiences in helping students on their learning journeys and being able to freely share about Jesus along the way.
When I am not at school, I love spending time with my husband and two teenage children (who keep me busy as a cook, cleaner, maths and writing tutor, piano and cello teacher, and taxi driver to sporting events). In the moments I get to myself you might find me running, gardening, or painting.
