About Us

At Waipa Christian School our aim is to encourage students to become lifelong learners. Our expectation of our tamariki, is a willingness to learn to develop the skills to explore, connect and be active contributing members of their community. We would love to see them reach the full potential God has destined for them. We strive for success for all by helping students to become resilient, curious and courageous.

God is our focus and our Christian faith permeates throughout everything our students endeavour to do. Quality teaching and learning is at the heart of the matter and our achievement data can attest to this. We actively encourage and support positive participation in sporting, and cultural activities at school and club level. Our school teams and cultural groups are frequently involved with inter-school events, both locally, and other districts ranging as far as Rotorua and Taupo.

Waipa Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school that welcomes families from all the local Christian churches in Te Awamutu, Cambridge, and Otorohanga. We also allocate spaces on our roll for students who don't closely align with our Christian Special Character. These are referred to as non-preference enrolments, and can be up to 10% of the current total roll of the school. Please see the enrolment policy under the 'Enrol' tab.

Our school is governed by a very supportive and committed Board of Trustees. We also have a Board of Proprietors who provide the buildings and are the guardians of the Christian Special Character of our school.
