Pitomata Class Teacher - Y4 & 5
Kia ora!
It is my privilege to introduce myself, Anine Bonthuys, as the Pitomata class teacher. I am grateful to be part of the Waipa Christian School community!
Our family relocated from South Africa in 2023, and we find the transition from a bustling city to the countryside quite refreshing! I enjoy running, cooking, and exploring new places with my family.
I obtained a Bachelor's in Secondary Education with a Major in Science (BSecEd(Sci)) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 2008, and a Bachelor of Education Honours degree, specializing in Education Management and Law, from the University of South Africa in 2019.
Over the past years, I have worked at various Christian primary and high schools in South Africa (Jabulane Christian Academy and Maragon College), as well as at a public primary school in Taiwan (Tungmen Elementary School). I treasure the valuable teaching experience gained from each of these schools, as the age groups, cultures, curricula, and socioeconomic statuses varied remarkably.
Pitomata means “the potential to produce.” I firmly believe that each student in the Pitomata class has the capacity to develop their unique gifts and talents to reach their God-given potential. In 1 Cor 3:6, Paul says, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” I look forward to partnering with students and parents on this journey to help our students reach their potential. However, we are thankful for knowing it is God who works within us and grows us in all areas of life.
